Prophet Mojadigo Appears in Court With New Attitude Amid Serious Charges
SHARE

Gaborone, Botswana – Well-known religious leader Goitsekogosi Mojadigo, founder of Divine Anointing Church International, appeared before the Village Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning looking calm, collected, and noticeably more humble than in previous court appearances.

The 33-year-old, who had previously drawn attention for his confident and defiant courtroom demeanor during his early 2024 hearings, seemed changed. Many observers believe his time in police custody may have contributed to this new approach, as he appeared thoughtful and subdued while facing the court.

Mojadigo is currently charged with one count of engaging in unlawful conduct with a minor, an incident allegedly occurring on or around April 23, 2024, in Block 10, Gaborone. During the session, Prosecutor Nelly Seabuweng informed the court that the state intends to present 12 witnesses to support the charges.

In a prior court appearance, Magistrate Daniel Nkau officially recused himself from the case, citing a conflict of interest due to his ties with the law firm representing Mojadigo. As a result, the case was reassigned to Senior Village Magistrate Tshepo Tshedi.

In addition to the current charge, Mojadigo is facing multiple serious allegations in a separate case at the Mochudi Magistrate’s Court, where he is accused of defiling four teenage girls and is also charged with rape. He was re-arrested in October 2024 for violating bail conditions, and he has remained in police custody ever since.

Next Steps in the Case

According to Magistrate Tshedi, Mojadigo is expected to appear for a Case Management Conference (CMC) on June 2, 2025, with the full trial scheduled to begin on August 25, 2025.

The case continues to attract significant public interest due to Mojadigo’s status as a high-profile church leader and the seriousness of the charges involved.
